We got a new kitty. Grey has wanted a kitty for a very long time. He has a deep and abiding love for kitties. I couldn't decide whether to get him a kitty or a lizard. I thought that a lizard would be less fun, but also less work. Yesterday my dad told me that lizards are actually kind of hard pets, and today someone posted that they had kittens for sale on facebook, so that made my mind up.
We haven't decided on a name yet. When you ask Grey what he wants to name it, he just says "my kitty." The previous owners were calling it Sister Larson, until they found out it was a boy and then they started calling him Larry. Jed wants to name him Orton, which is the name of the family we got it from. I want to name him Bonnie. (I know, he's a boy. This cat is destined to have a gender-identity crisis.) Then we'd have a Bonnie and Clyde. GEt it? Bonnie and Clyde (the weiner dog.)
The boys are deeply, eternally, inseperabally in love with What's-His-Name. Grey doesn't like to hold him, because the kitty latches onto clothing like velcro, but he does want the kitty to sit next to him, so he can stare at it and smile and occasionally reach out and pet it. Also, he wants the kitty to watch Word World with him. Harvey does want to hold it. "In my hands! In my hands! Put him in my hands, mom! In my hands!" But we are teaching him he can only hold it when he is sitting down. Poor kitten.

OH! I'm so happy he is doing well. His Mom misses him. I love that Grey just wants to sit by him.
And I'm so happy to follow your Blog now, your boys are so darling.
How about Bernie? Bernie and Clyde? :)
Hilariously cute. It's good for kids to have pets! Also, I didn' tknow you had a weiner dog. I always say that our cat wants a weiner dog but alas, Travis never buys her one.
I can just see Grey's smile as he watches the cat. (And I'm thinking the cat is very lucky that Grey doesn't want to squeeze him to death, oh wait I mean hold him.)

We have a bird names "Newbird" because we couldn't agree on a name for him, (and we already had one bird, so he became the "new" bird).
When I was pregnant with Rachel, we couldn't agree on a name for the longest time. We tease her that she almost became "Newkid".
Good luck teaching the kids to be gentle. You will either end up with one very patient cat, or one that hides under the bed all the time! :-)
