Oui. Yesterday we took Harvey to the doctor for the little cough that has lingered too long. He had been running a slight fever which I attributed to teething all day long. We got home from the doctor and pharmacy, gave him a bit of Tylenol and his new prescription medicine, put him in his jammies, and he went to sleep.
Around 11:30 he was stirring and whining a little in his crib, so I went and got him. Right when I picked him up I could tell he had a fever. I took his temperature. I knew it would be high, but I wasn't expecting it to be 103.8. I immediately started panicking. I woke up Jed and started undressing Harv.ey and drawing a bath. Jed ran around the house like a chicked with its head cut off gathering things: Motrin, Tylenol, his new medicine, a syringe, a bulb syringe, consecrated oil, a thermometer, a cold washcloth, and his vaporizer. He put a pot of boiling water on the stove, for the humidity. I called my mom, and the hospital, and was mortified when they told me to try to bring it down myself. A dose of tylenol, 2 baths, and 15 minutes later his temp was down to 100, so we set our alarm clock to wake us up in an hour and went to sleep. We woke up every hour all night long. His temperature crawled back up to 102 a few times when the medicine was wearing off, and he took 2 other baths. He slept in his diaper with a washcloth on his forehead, in bed with me and Daddy. What really scared me was when I gave him a dose of Motrin at 6 AM and woke up at 8 to find his fever back up to 102. I started to panic because it would have meant that the medicine wasn't keeping it down anymore. I called the doctor again and decided I would give him another bath while I waited for the doctor to call me back. When I got Harvey up to put him in the bath again I saw a wet, sticky pile of medicine on the sheets where his face had beed. The little monkey had saved the medicine in his mouth and spit it back out when I wasn't watching!!!
Anyhow, we are glad that scary night is over and Harvey seems to be doing much better now. I took him back to the doctor again this morning. The doc isn't worried (!!!!!) and thinks maybe the fever will help him get better from the last lingering RSV. Harvey is scooting around the floor playing with a bunny and screaming at the dog now, so I guess I will just keep an eye on him. I'm so glad I'm not a single mother. I cannot imagine a night like last night without Jed there to help me.
If you are wondering why I haven't been posting as many pictures as usual, it is because my camera suffered from copious amounts of baby drool and just has not been working the same since. I will get a new one once Ha.rvey gets better and I can go to the store without feeling guilty.

POOR HARVEY!
I almost freaked when I read 103 at first...I'm used to Ethan's must-go-to-E.R.-at-100.4 instructions!! But 103+ is way high even for the older babies and I'm surprised no one was worried!
I'm glad his temp is down and hope that he recovers soon!!
I love this picture of your family. Harvey's smile is contagious.
