Sick Again

I don't know if I just get extra panicky when Harvey gets sick, or if Harvey just gets extra sick when he gets sick. I think a little of both. Yesterday I kept him home from church because he had a slight fever. We pumped Tylenol and Motrin through him during the night and he did pretty well. This morning at around 11 o'clock though, he started crying inconsolably. He cried and cried and cried from 11 o'clock until around 3 o'clock, and I just held him and paced in circles around my living room. Jed was clear up in North Salt Lake, so I called my mom as soon as her school got out and told her to rush over. She came and held him long enough for me to get a diaper bag together and put on a shirt that wasn't covered in boogers. Then she cuddled him in the car as I drove us to the doctor. Then she let the nurse weigh her twice, once holding Harvey and once without, so crying Harvey wouldn't have to stand on the scale all by himself. Then she paced around the nurses station with crying Harvey so I could sit and hear the instructions from the doctor. Then she held him while he had a shot of Rocephin. Then she came home with us and fed him ice cream and held him until Jed got home. Then she ran to the store to buy some alternate forms of Tylenol and Motrin. She is the best. (Thank you Mom!!!)

Harvey appears to have a virus that is causing ulcers in the back of his throat. Sad stuff. Jed has taken most of tomorrow off, and the doctor said Harvey should start feeling better by tomorrow evening.

On a happier note, Jed and I got a new church calling, which means that Jed has been released as exec. secretary. I am HAPPY because now I won't have to get two baby boy's ready for church on Sunday mornings while Jed is in bishopric meetings. And our new calling is a really easy one.

On Saturday Harvey and I were playing at Grandma's house. Harvey found a big empty tupperware that Grandma uses to hold Christmas decorations. He had a lot of fun climbing in and out and on top of it. I told him it was time to go bye-bye. He climbed off the box, bent down so he could reach the handles on each side, and started carrying the storage box to the front door so he could bring it home with us The box is bigger than he is, and he had to walk half bent over, grunting the whole way to the door. Mom and I got a good laugh out of it, and when we were done she helped him carry the box out to the car. Harvey has had a lot of fun with that box in the last few days.

Harvey was kicking my baby belly when I was trying to put him to sleep. I said "Oh no, please don't kick my belly. That's a baby brother in there and it will give him owies. We have to be so soft." Ever since then, Harvey comes up and touches my belly every now and then, and makes soft little whispering S sounds. I still don't think he has a clue what is going on, but it is pretty cute when he does that.

HEY! When did we find out that baby was a baby boy? I almost fell out of my seat over here!!

:D

Sounds like things are well all except for Harvey's ulcers. Aww, the poor kid! It sounds awful! I hope he feels a lot better soon!

Harvey is going to be the sweetest big brother. I pictured him jabber talking to his brother right now. What a cutie bending towards your belly making ss sounds.

I am so happy we live close to each other. It is a blessing to be part of my grandchildren' lives.
