I found the camera. Right where it belongs, so no wonder it was missing. Cammie called and asked if she could stop by later this afternoon, so I will take some pictures then and get them up TODAY. I promise.

We are having a crazy summer! Jed is leaving for Minnesota next week (Just 3 days for a wedding. My parents are leaving for Texas on Sunday. My Grandma and Grandpa are stopping by tonight, on their way to Texas. My brother is trying to close on his house in Wyoming, and get his wife and kids out there, but right now they are living at my parents house. My poor Mom is still recovering from surgery, and she still seems to be having gallbladder-ish attacks. Yesterday I did some cleaning and shopping for her. Jake is running an Ultra Marathon in Wyoming on Saturday, the same day as Harveys Birthday party. Brandon started a new job as a bonafied biologist. Exciting! My baby brother Creed is sick, sick, sick. He also had his wisdom teeth out about a week ago, in preparation to leave on a mission at the end of the summer. (Sob.) Jeds oldest sister is moving into her new house today, just a few minutes from ours. We have 2 nieces and 2 nephews in her family, so we are glad to have them back in Utah. I've been invited to two writers retreats this month, and I sure would love to go to at least one of them.

This morning I woke up with a droopy eyelid. I'm pretty sure it's a stye from lack of sleep. (Thing 2 keeps me up late, and Thing 1 gets me up early. And, quite frankly, books keep me up at nap time. ) The droopy eyelid does give me a certain aura of mysteriousness...a touch...just an essence really, of...mental instability. It's nice, but I think I will try to sleep it off at nap time. Otherwise, it might be exacerbated by the fact that I am planning on sneaking out of the house at midnight tonight to record the sound of my dad snoring. You see, my favorite radio station is having a Dad Snoring Competition for Fathers day. As a general life-rule, I don't call radio stations. (Seems trashy.) But its a snoring competition. It's practically my fathers birthright! Plus, the prize is a new bedroom set.

It has been raining nearly every day, so Jed and I have yet to finish the swingset. Harvey is still loving it though. We got the swings up, and the sandbox built. My parents were nice enough to buy a slide, which we put up on Saturday. Harvey wants to be in the back yard all day, every day.

Grey is getting HUGE. I wouldn't be surprised if he is in the 100th percentile for weight and height, now. He is such a smiler, and charms everyone, from the lady in the elevator at IKEA, to the check out girl at the grocery store yesterday.

I have started teaching Thing 1 the signs for "more" and "milk." Oddly, he has started using a lot of gestures of his own since we started practicing these. Yesterday, for example, I asked him if I could have a kiss, and he put his little fingertips together, touched them to my cheek, and then shook his hand as if he was shaking his head. It was clear that the gesture meant "no kiss." Also, when he wants to go outside and play, he has been swinging his arm in a swishing motion, and then clenching and unclenching his fist as he points toward the door. I am going to have to ask his speech therapist about this when she comes.

His speech therapy assessment meeting went really well. I was hoping they would come a little more often than what they decided, but they did say if I don't feel like it is working we can reassess that in the future.

I was thinking about the poor woman who got hit all day yesterday. I was just about to take her a milkshake and see if I could help her at all, when the police called to get a statement. It makes me a little nervous to give a statement, but apparently there are 2 children involved, so I guess I'll have to deal. Apparently it was her ex who it her, who was visiting his son that the two of them have together.

I din't notice a droopy eyelid when you were here. Must be better. Can't wait for Harvey's party, I'm going to look for one of the large sun umbrellas to post in the sandbox and cute flying flag things. I know the sandbox is under the slide platform for shade, but an umbrella will almost make it seem like an enclosed fort even more.

I'm so glad Cammie came by to say hi. We just love her. I hope you got a picture of her pulling the dog and Harvey chasing them both with the bone/ball/dogtoy.

LOL at the "air of mental instability!" hahaha!! :D

It's interesting about the gestures, for sure. I'll be ineterested to hear what the therapist says, too.

Your poor neighbor! You're a good person to want to help. The kids are really the most unfortunate in the whole thing. :(

Hope you had a good visit with Cammie!
